Since 1903, our church has stood as one of the oldest African-American Churches in the Nation.

Now our church is initiating a new dialogue on how we can improve our congregations and become not only a historic, but also a sustainable church.

Develop a 5 Year Strategic Plan.

We are committed to developing a-Year Strategic Plan for the House of God Church to address our aging church infrastructure, capital projects, and provide analysis of data regarding our growing number of historic congregations. Our plan will focus on addressing these challenges while ensuring the continued growth and development of our church community.

Foster New Partnerships.

The Keith Center seeks grant funding for capital projects, programming, and staffing needs for church communities. This funding will enhance outreach, facilities, and programs that promote spiritual growth and community engagement. By investing in these areas, we aim to strengthen our mission and effectively serve congregations and the community. Your support can help us achieve this.

Offer Grant Technical Support.

The Keith Center will provide essential support to local churches seeking grant funding, offering compliance officers, grant writers, and technical assistance. This comprehensive support will ensure proper administration and give churches the confidence to pursue and manage grant funds effectively.

Centralize Data Collection and Analysis of our Historic Black Churches.

The Keith Center is focused on digitizing historic church records, like Presiding Elder Books, to improve access to demographic data for congregations over 50 years old. This initiative preserves valuable historical information and facilitates analysis for researchers and church leaders. By using modern technology, we will create a digital archive that safeguards important records and helps congregations engage with their history for future planning.

Develop Innovative solutions for our infrastructure.

Many older churches are facing challenges due to a lack of awareness about available resources and tools designed to support smaller congregations. As these churches struggle to adapt to changing community needs and demographic shifts, they often overlook innovative strategies that could enhance their ministries and outreach efforts. The Keith Center aims to bridge this gap by providing tailored support and individualized plans that address the unique circumstances of each local church. By leveraging insights and proven methodologies, The Keith Center is dedicated to empowering these congregations to thrive in their mission and better serve their communities.

Capture the Story.

A vital component of The Keith Center is the preservation of the rich history of our older Black churches. It is essential for people to recognize who we are and appreciate the remarkable journeys these congregations have undertaken. By leveraging technology, we aim to develop comprehensive digital archives that document the stories, traditions, and contributions of each local church. This initiative will not only help maintain a crucial record for research but also support programming that honors and educates others about our community's heritage. Together, we will ensure these narratives remain a vibrant part of our collective memory.
